Think About It...Think
Dave Mellor

Think about it… Think

Do you remember the last time you took time to THINK? No radio, TV, I Pod, talking spouse or shouting children. Just you thinking; taking a quiet journey in your mind.

God said a wise man will THINK! Psalms 1:2, a wise man will make time to meditate on the important issues of life. We become who we are in our mind. Thinking gives faith and actions its roots. Thinking is not to be feared.

“WE BECOME WHO WE ARE IN OUR MIND”

One of the tragedy’s of our time is that most people want to live in a world where they are saying “Tell me what to do and I’ll do it.”

Children ask why and it is in finding out why that they develop maturity. Christians need not fear asking why.  It is in our search for why that we find our way to a mature faith.

“IT IS IN OUR SEARCH FOR WHY THAT WE FIND OUR WAY TO A MATURE FAITH”

“Go into all the world”…why? “Do this in remembrance of me”…why? “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter”…why? “Do not forsake the assembly”…why? “It is appointed unto man to die”…why?

If you have forgotten how to think maybe the following will help you commune with you!

1.       Remember that meditation and study are not the same things. Meditation is allowing your mind to explore possibilities based on your present knowledge.

2.       Start with 10-15 minutes a day.

3.       Read God’s thoughts then close your Bible and think. Why?

4.       Remember you can share your thoughts, but you can’t share your mind. The best thinking is done in solitude.

5.       The purpose of meditation is NOT to gain new knowledge; it is to gain deeper more personal understanding and insight.

NOW THINK ABOUT IT!

WHAT IS IT!
