Think about it..."Too Much Water Will Kill You"

Think About It…”Too Much Water Will Kill You”

Jennifer Strange died shortly after competing in a water drinking contest held by a radio station in California the cause of death “water intoxication”. The experts tell us that the body can only process so much water at a time, when the amount of water goes beyond the body’s ability to process it, death can occur.

I see a spiritual message in this terrible, unbelievable death. In our attempts to explain some of the things God said we water down the truth and become guilty of changing what the Lord actually said. For example, we often are quick to tell the new convert that he or she cannot expect to live without sinning. 1 John 1:8 “If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”  We forget to balance that verse by reminding the new convert of what Paul said “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” 1 Cor. 10:13

Jesus said the field is white and the harvest is ready. Man water that down by saying none is really interested!

Jesus said go to those with whom you have a problem. Man throws water on the idea of compassionate confrontation by telling us it will just make things worse.

Please don’t get my prayer life wet! Jesus said “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe, you will receive”. Man pours the water hose on that by telling us prayers are useless.

What a joy it is to hear people talk about how God answers prayer. It is so good for my faith to hear a proclamation of the power of God working in the lives of others. Please don’t water down any more of God’s Word! I’m drowning in your buckets of doubt.

I will continue to believe that with a mustard seed faith, mountains can be moved. I want to know that I can trust my God when he says “All things are possible.” I will continue to act upon my faith in my Savors words, “Ask and ye shall receive.” I need to know that it’s God’s desire to see “All men saved.”

So keep your buckets of realism explanation and clarification to yourself. Please let this fire continue to burn.

The only water I need is Living Water.
