Short and Long Term Plans
Continue to analyze the effectiveness of our currently supported mission programs, and monitor our levels of support for each Evaluate the feasibility of analyzing the local market needs and providing vocational training to further help already established churches become more self-sufficient and -sustaining. Have visiting missionaries and short term mission participants report to the congregation, visiting different age groups as appropriate Provide post-trip informational and educational forums for the East Brainerd family. Provide content from missionaries’ letters for the congregation Build a support group within the congregation for each missionary we support financially Identify and encourage short term mission opportunities for our family Involve in meaningful activities the members of East Brainerd who have expressed willingness to serve in foreign evangelism Coordinate and participate in visits to the missions we support Communicate with others to learn of other mission needs and opportunities as they become available; consider bringing speakers experienced in the mission field to East Brainerd for a forum of education, information and stimulation. Prayerfully research all mission opportunities and candidates for mission assignments Develop consistent process for determining which opportunities to pursue and what level of support is appropriate Continue our involvement with medical missions; develop a strategy for follow up ministry.
Goals
Continue support and assistance to programs that are successful in advancing the Kingdom Help plant and sustain churches in foreign lands which will eventually become self-sufficient Educate the East Brainerd family about existing missions and opportunities Research and select additional opportunities for carrying out the Great Commission Involve members in foreign evangelism.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to further the completion of the Great Commission as given by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20 (Go therefore and make disciples of all nations) and revealed to John as recorded in Revelation 5:9-10 (from every tribe and tongue and people and nation). We will accomplish this by challenging, encouraging, and educating ourselves and the family at East Brainerd about opportunities and methods for taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to foreign lands and by targeting appropriate places and selecting qualified people to carry the message.
